“Please Just take what you want and go,” I snapped, inside of htning bolts of pain outward

“Oh, we’re going to take ant, that’s for sure” Car teeth in his bottoue lapped at his upper lip Before he could make his next move, an otherworldly sound bellowed fro my view as I heard them draw sharp breaths over low curses

“What the fuck is tha—” The first man started

My heart seized at the sound that followed

A growl, low andtowards us A wolf? A bear? Neither seemed likely, not here in the safe Ara I’d ever seen was a rabid badger

The thieves scurried backward, nearly toppling overbolt of pain froasped for breath But all pain was forgotten when I saw the third figure filling the re, shoulders bu the sides of the entryway as he ramrodded forward into the midst of the two thieves

One enorainst the stone wall hard enough to crack the mortar between the stones, as the man I’d found inbetween his legs, clasping his hands together as he suddenly found God

But the face that turned his as no wild animal No It was a man

And what a man

My eyes had adjusted to the low light, and I saw him in more detail than if the sun shown upon him at mid-day He must have been somewhere near seven feet tall, and his hard face, covered al but it wasn’t It was beautiful The most beautiful face I’d ever seen

I could see that thebut safety I knew the giant wasn’t there to harm me He was there to protect me And whatever the world threay, I knew that he would be more than a match for it
